At the Moot in 2011, on 11/11/11 the Gild was destroyed and re-constituted. Only folk who were actually there were re-admitted into the Gild. This process was necessitated by the forces of Níðhöggr — the only way to stop them is by renewal. This all means two things:
1) Any person, Associate, Learner, or Fellow must now be readmitted by a Master of the Gild in good standing. Masters must be re-admitted by a Drighten.
2) I allowed these forces to enter our Hall. This necessitates a renewal of Leadership in the Gild. To this end, I have, as my final administrative act as Yrmin-Drighten, appointed a five-member High Rede to oversee a new Gild order. These members are: Ulfahirðingi (chief), Lothar Tuppan, Ristandi, Annabel Lee, and Ian Read. I have made some suggestions to the members of this Rede which I think will lead to greater participation in Gild activities by all involved.
My own galdor-stave in parting as the chief administrator of the Gild is simple:
The Gild is always to be ruled by four mainstaves:
– Rûna (The Principle of Mystery)
– Óðinn (The Seeker of Mystery)
– Siðr (Tradition through History)
– Arfr (Tradition in Transcendence)
If these are followed, the spirit of my leadership, but it is hoped not its weaknesses, will carry on.
I will continue to teach individuals in the Gild. I will advise the High Rede, but ONLY when asked. Otherwise I will leave them completely free to do a better job than I was able to do. This I trust they will do.
Additionally, I continue to hold the name of Yrmin-Drighten and thus the power to destroy the Gild and to renew it again, if Need be.
