A note for those who are incarcerated or otherwise institutionalized seeking Gild Affiliation

For those seeking affiliation with the Gild who are not currently at liberty…

*New* membership – either Associate or Initiate – is closed to those who are currently incarcerated. This isn’t new policy, but it seems we need to restate it. This policy is NOT a moral or legal censure: it has everything to do with your ability to interact with the Gild as it currently exists, at large.

We are not a correspondence course or internet community.  Those who are not at liberty to interact directly, face-to-face, with other Gild Sibs should defer membership until such time as they are able to interact freely with other Gilders.

For those currently incarcerated (or otherwise not at liberty) who wish to seek affiliation with the Gild, the path begins with obtaining a copy of _The Nine Doors of Midgard_ [Available Here]

If you wish to seek affiliation with the Gild, then you should work through the full curriculum of the first two Doors (including all required readings, exercises, etc.)  and a) upon completion of that curriculum and b) when you are free to interact with other Gilders face-to-face then: contact the Gild via the normal channels and your application for affiliation will be evaluated as any other prospective Gilder’s would be.

Prior incarceration or existing criminal record are not automatic disqualifications for Gild affiliation.  We understand that everyone has a past, and that our pasts differ.  However, the particular circumstances of one’s past are indicative of one’s fitness for membership in a particular community.  So the Gild reserves the right to extend, deny, or revoke membership and affiliation according to the will of the Rede.
